Soft-lite's Elements line is stellar, and in the elite category of vinyl windows. If you plan to stay in the home for 10 years or more, it would be the best choice. The SF runs laps around one in terms of performance and has a much more proven track record than both. I know it has gotten better, but I still think that is a flawed comparison between the 1st and 3rd choices.

Have you discussed this with the SF salesperson? If a window is designed to withstand drafts, it would not require those unsightly pads than can invariable come off since they are just glued on to the corners. None of the higher end offerings utilize those pads. If you want to laugh, ask the alside salesman what the foam insulation or reinforcement look like, its a joke that they even get away with what they do in my opinion.

Their higher end Sovereign, and to a lesser extent the Berkshire Elite, is a decent vinyl window. The construction and durability aren't stellar though. I think given the right price point, these two vinyl windows might be acceptable options, but honestly there are other brands and manufacturers that I would recommend over Revere or Alside.

I was told by the ISM that the replacement windows would be here 30 July. The ISM has been very poor in responding to our requests for updates. He rarely, if ever, returns phone calls and seems to only respond to text messages; very unprofessional!

A while back he even told me that Simonton told him not to inquire as to the status paraphrased when I asked for an update. From my experience, I would not recommend Simonton. I could say more, but this pretty much sums up our poor service after the sell.
