Spyderco zip tie wave mod

All that being said, I have to admit that a large ziptie works better than the Kwik Thumb Stud method shown above. Joined: Apr 11, Messages: 1, Likes Received: 5, I like the wave features on a knife, I own one, spyderco matriarch 2. It opens very easily, but I primarily carry a sebenza and I am fine with the thumb stud. Would never zip tie my other spyderco because I never need to open my knife that quickly. I do carry the matriarch during my hikes with my dogs, in case. You must log in or sign up to post here.

YMMV :. Post by SolidState » Tue Aug 24, pm I had this same problem a few months ago and went with the waved delica. I love the thing. The wave does do a number on pockets though. I still love the feature. I liked how the zip tie worked but it got in the way of full-blade cutting and that got on my nerves enough to eventually take it off. You won't have that with the true waved version. If you really like the wave, and you love FFG, this is the way to go IMO and could well be worth the extra money spent to have it if you really plan on EDC'ing it a lot.

Better yet, all models with wave feature :p. Post by prisoner6 » Wed Aug 25, am I'm leaning toward the Wave model. Have they always been the same color FRN? I have seen pictures that make them look Dark Gray, and some look almost like a Dark Blue color. Post by Glock27 » Wed Aug 25, am I've seen several shades like you said, but usually dunk mine in Black Rit dye. Post by markg » Wed Aug 25, am I have several of the waved models and they are all a blueish gray looking color. Get a purple "Barney Killer" Delica.

I never thought that would have been my favorite color of them all. Check out the colors in person, they look different than in print. Myself I prefer the wave on the Endura. Post by Murdoc » Wed Aug 25, am Waved models all have and always had the same color - greyish blue, blueish grey, whatever you will call it. After the novelty has worn off, the Wave is still cool, but not THAT necessary for EDC tasks, since the hole helps opening the knife just as fast as you most likely will ever need it.

In a SD situation, I would honestly rather depend on my thumb than on my skill to deploy a waved Spydie correctly, but that is just me and can be overcome by enough training.

In an everyday enrironment though, you tend to get raised eyebrows when pulling out a knife using the wave function since a little speed is required and it "klicks" quite noticeably - so you draw unwanted attention to you and your knife.

Besides, who knows how long the color handled FFG Delicas will still be around? Post by Scottie » Wed Aug 25, pm The wave is cool, and mine sometimes catches on bottle caps if you know what I mean.

I really like the FFG blade. My pleasure ;- Men carried knifes since they came out of caves, and since then history of men and history of knives walked hand in hand. There is something special about knives since they are the only tool from the past that we still use daily.

I'm considering building the kin you had for heat treating my knives. Do you have any photos of knives you have made? I have three more in the row that are about to be finished, one of them needs the sharpening only, will be completed this weekend hopefully. Introduction: Knife Zip Tie Mod. By young skipper Follow.
